During our last Arts and Crafts sessions the students learned how to make "abanicos", Spanish fans.  After mastering the technique of making them, they went on to personalize them, with beautiful designs  and colours.

On a closing note I would like to congratulate all the students for doing a wonderful job! Throughout the program, they showed enthusiasm and developed into great artists. We had a wonderful three weeks, combining art with their academic program and the Spanish culture! WELL DONE TO ALL!

During our arts and crafts workshop students were introduced to the work of renowned Spanish artist Pablo Picasso.  He was famous for being the co-founder of cubism, a style of painting that includes a combination of cubes, circles, triangles, cones and other geometric shapes.  The students then had to make a cubist portrait, inspired by the artist's work.  The results were amazing! ENJOY!

This week began with an introduction to the Spanish artist Joan Miró, the students practiced using the artist's style, and then continued with creating their own interpretation of Miró's work.  The result was an extremely creative workshop with a multitude of designs, colours, forms.  Some even went the extra mile and turned their paintings into 3 Dimensional pieces. Truly inspirational!! WELL DONE TO ALL!!

After mastering the art of the origami 'toro' the students began to personalize them. Creating a multi cultural mix of bulls.

"Los Toros" (bulls), play an important part in the Spanish culture.  Students observed them grazing lazily 'en el campo de Salamanca' as they traveled through the beautiful country side during their excursions.   Using them as inspiration, students learned how to make origami toros, creating their own 'campo de TSSP'.

After a visit to the Biblioteca Pública de Salamanca, which is housed in the beautiful Casa de las Conchas building, students explored a variety of Spanish comic books.  Inspired by their visit, each student created their own comic book, 'mi tira cómica', depicting favorable moments from their excursions and Salamanca visits!
